The Ethiopian Dictator forced 70’000 people from the total of 1.5 million selling the their land for land grabbers

Ethiopian dictator Melese Zenawie, mentored in the ideology of the late Albert Koja of Albania, has forcibly moved tens of thousands of semi-nomadic people in the country’s west to barren villages and threatened, assaulted and arrested those who resisted, worst than in condition to the late communist dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam he replaced in 1991.

The irredentist Melese Zenawie last year resettled about 70,000 people in its western Gambella region after the first of a three-year “villagization” program and totally sold their land for Saudian and Indian land grabber for less than 8$ per hectare for 99 years.

The work of the Ethiopian Dictator is not even a secret for the right group which confirmed our assertion “rights group said it suspects the rights group said it suspects people have been moved to lease out farmland to investors, and not just to lift them out of poverty. It said that security forces “repeatedly threatened, assaulted, and arrested villagers” who resisted relocation. And rape, killing of cattle and burning of houses among rights violations.”

They removed from their land in the promise of “Promised Land improved life with “access to basic socio-economic infrastructures,”. But they found themselves in new villages of hell with no food, farmland, schools and health clinics, worst than the deadly soviet satellite dictator Mengistu Haile Mariam.

Even the Human Rights Watch confirmed our 2 years old accusation by making a report which is based on based on 100 interviews in 2011 with residents in Gambella and in a refugee camp in Kenya. The report also relied on visits to 16 affected villages. And came to conclusion that

“The Ethiopian government to suspend its program until all promised facilities has been provided for.”

The Dictatorial regime of Melees Zenawie is not even ashamed to call his fictive federated region of  Gambella  and its resettlement is a success and that “villagers for the first time in their history started to produce excess product — maize, sorghum, rice, potatoes, beans, vegetables, fruits, etc. — beyond and above their family consumption.” Truly he created the region in order to evacuate and sell the land to the international grabbers with red stamp of the local handpicked parliamentarians.

Ethiopian dictator has already sold the Gambella region to the international grabbers. Thus a plan to relocate a total of 45,000 households in Gambella by 2013 is underway. Our affirmation is even supported by the Oakland Institute, a U.S.-based policy think tank, by affirming that the “Ethiopia’s government has earmarked 42 percent of Gambella’s land for investment.”

Gambella federal region resettlement plan is part of a larger scheme  even which includes that of Benishengual region  and the Southern Nationalities region who has less resistance to the regime that Melees Zenawie  The dictator started to relocate a total of 1.5 million people in four regions for  land grabbing.  The dictator has earmarked a total of 3.5 million hectares for leasing nationwide and it has rented out more than 350,000 hectares to 24 investors in the last two years.

Even the  Human Rights Watch, confirmed  that  resettlement takes place “in the exact same areas of Ethiopia that the government is leasing to foreign investors for large-scale commercial agricultural operations” and added  that “it  raises suspicions about the underlying motives of the program.”

Ethiopia is one of the top recipients of U.S aid in sub Saharan Africa. According to the USAID on the report of Human right Watch, had concerns about underlying motives of the resettlement scheme but wasn’t successful in getting the government to respond to allegations of a link between relocation and investment…”

According to the Human Right watch Europe that the USAID’s donated money is being used, at least indirectly, to fund the villagization program.” He said donors should take the responsibility “to ensure that their assistance does not facilitate forced displacement and associated violations”.

In March 2011 the regime of Melees Zenawie has cheated the USAID by preparing a model village in Gambella that resulted to have a favorable assessment of the Gambella resettlement program by concluding that relocation was voluntary.
